On the night of October 31 of each year, Halloween is celebrated almost everywhere in the world. The houses, the shops and even the streets are decorated to celebrate ‘the day of the dead’.

Each celebration that takes place is linked to a specific theme and, in this case, Halloween is related to fear, monstrous beings and the gloomy.

This party is very popular with children for all that it implies: costumes, makeup, parties and fun. Therefore, each year, to a greater extent, the celebrations around this festival are larger and more successful.

To start preparing this day, today we bring you a selection of crafts for Halloween that the little ones will love, as this means that the date is already coming.

Halloween crafts

As we have indicated previously, Halloween is synonymous with terror, fear and darkness. The element that best represents this holiday is the famous orange pumpkin  but, without a doubt, others such as vampires, ghosts, blood or cobwebs are also very present in this holiday.

Therefore, below we leave you some of the simplest but fun crafts that your children will love to do before dressing up and putting on makeup for the day. We started!

1. Bat garland

Bats are one of the elements that most represent this Halloween holiday . For this reason, creating a garland of bats will be an activity that will attract a lot of attention from the smallest of the house, as well as being something simple that they can even create themselves.

For this craft we will need:

  • A strip of black paper as long as bats want to create.
  • Pair of scissors.
  • Pencil.

The first step will be to draw the shape of the bat on a separate sheet of paper. Later, that shape will be traced on the black paper. Once traced, what we will do is fold the sheet as many times as we want to make figures, leaving just enough space to cut out the bat afterwards. All this as if it were an accordion.

The last step will be to cut out the figure that is at the top, although we will also be cutting out all those included below. Once cut out, we just have to open the accordion and that’s it!

2. Ghosts and pumpkins

Do you want to fill your house with ghosts and pumpkins in a very fun and simple way? Sometimes decorating a pumpkin is hard work that takes a long time and ends up demotivating children in the end. However, to create these ghosts and pumpkins we will use an element that they love: balloons!

For this craft we will need:

  • As many white balloons as ghosts you want to create.
  • As many orange balloons as pumpkins you want to create.
  • Black cardboard.
  • Glue

The steps to follow are simple. First, you must inflate the balloons. The second step will be to draw on the black cardboard the faces that you want both the ghosts and the pumpkins to have, and here there are a thousand possibilities to create.

The third step will be to cut out and glue each of the created shapes to the balloon. And we will have our ghosts and pumpkins ready to be placed in all corners of the house!

3. Crafts for  Halloween : monstrous beings come to your house

One of the crafts that your children will like the most will be, without a doubt, this, since, in addition to being able to create different terrifying characters, you can play with them later. As a base to create these characters you will need an element that is very easily found in all houses: the cardboard of the toilet paper.

With these simple materials you can create pumpkins, vampires, ghosts, even Frankenstein! In this craft, the most important thing is creativity when creating each of the characters.

4. The funniest witch in these Halloween crafts

With a series of disposable plastic plates, we will have endless characters in our homes. In this case, we will show you the steps to create a witch but, with a little imagination, you can create the monstrous beings that you like the most at home.

For this craft you will need:

  • A green plate.
  • Pencil.
  • Colored cardboard: orange, black and purple.

For the part of the dish that you like the most, and in the center of it, you must draw the face of this terrifying witch. The next step will be to create her hair, as creepy as she is. To do this, we will ask our children to trace their hand on the orange card four times, twice on each hand. Our witch will have tremendously funny hair.

As a third step, on the black cardboard we will create our witch’s hat.  To do this, you must take into account the size of the plate, so that the hat is not large, nor does it remain small. Then, on the purple cardboard, we will draw a small strip, which will be the junction between the upper part of the hat and the lower part.

Once we have all the elements created, the last step will be to place them on the plate and paste them. The hair must be glued inside the hat, sticking out from the sides so that it is as real as possible.
