On this occasion, we propose a series of crafts to welcome winter. Through them, you can show the children the elements that are related to this season of the year. Are you ready?

Crafts to welcome winter

Winter clothing mural

This craft to welcome the winter is intended for the smallest of the house from three years. With it, they will be able to discover the type of clothing that should be used in the coldest season of the year such as winter.

The mural will also represent the weather that most commonly occurs in it: snow. To make this mural you will need:

Cardboard crafts to welcome winter.
  • Card stock or colored folios.
  • Glue.
  • Cotton.
  • Pair of scissors.

The first step will be to draw two trees on both sides, completely bare sides, because in winter the leaves of the trees have fallen. Second, you will draw a strip in white from one tree to another, although you can also use tape directly. This strip will simulate the clothesline.

Then, it will be time to choose the garments that will be included in the mura l: hat, scarf, gloves and a coat among many other things can be part of it. Finally, with small cotton balls glued to the cardboard you will simulate snow. In this way, you will have your winter mural ready.

Snowman

As we have said previously, snow is very characteristic of this season of the year. For this reason, making snowmen when white covers the streets is one of the favorite activities of adults and children. To create this snowman you will need:

  • A small plastic bottle, including the cap.
  • Cotton.
  • Colored wool.

Once the water has been emptied from the bottle, the first step will be to fill it with small cotton balls to the top. The next steps will be to use the orange wool to create the doll’s nose and wool of another color to create a scarf so that our doll does not get cold.

You can also create two eyes for the doll in a simple way by drawing two circles on a sheet of paper and painting two black dots on them. You will have your snowman ready in a few minutes!

Snowflakes

Winter is closely linked to Christmas. Therefore, another of the crafts to welcome winter is to create decorations for the tree. In this case, the craft that we propose is to make a snowflake that, once finished, can be part of the Christmas decoration of your houses. For this activity you will need:

Snowman to welcome winter.
  • Four ice cream sticks.
  • White acrylic paint.
  • Blue glitter.
  • A blue ribbon.

The first of the steps is to create the snowflake from the popsicle sticks. To do this, first, you must paint the sticks white and sprinkle the blue glitter.

Once painted, you must glue two of them in the shape of an X or cross, and the other two on top, in the shape of a cross. The last step will be to place the blue ribbon on the back of the snowflake and it’s ready to hang on your Christmas tree! A decoration that will make you feel that you are in the kingdom of Frozen.

Mittens to keep you warm, one of the funniest crafts to receive the winter

As we have been saying from the beginning, cold and winter are totally united. Therefore, the little ones can create their own personalized mittens and place this craft as a decoration when this season arrives. To do this, you will need:

  • Colored cards.
  • Pair of scissors.
  • Pompoms or other decorative element.

First, you will have to cut out the shape of a mitten on a cardboard of the color you prefer and paste it on another. The second step will be to decorate the mitten. Here you can use materials that you have at home, such as colored paper, or even more cardboard, or use pompoms and fill the mitten.

It is a very simple craft intended for younger children to whom it will make them spend a fun time with the family.
